Drawing on Freud, Marx, Christian theology and toilet humor, and writing for the cabaret as well as the academy, W.H. Auden was the master of profound lightheartedness. In this lecture/performance, Aron Dunlap plays original musical settings of Auden lyrics and presents the life and thought of one of the great poets of the 20th century. Aron will be accompanied by singer and accordionist Pauline Sachar.
Bio: Aron Dunlap is a songwriter and a professor. He performs with his wife, Pauline Sachar, as Good Dust and teaches Humanities at the Shimer Great Books School at North Central College, outside of Chicago. He is the author of Lacan and Religion.
