Our story

In October of 2025 Antara Retreat was granted status as a nonprofit. Our mission is to work with universal truths that transcend culture and lineage, integrating the sacred into everyday life through spiritual practice and healing work.

We offer a place where all are welcome, bringing people together from every walk of life, all lineages and traditions, the young and old, those who are committed to walking in a sacred way and those who don’t have a conscious relationship to the sacred, those with abundant resources and those with less.

One of our highest priorities is to offer our work to anyone who wishes to receive it, which we have largely accomplished through our robust scholarship program. On average, about half the people who attend a retreat receive a scholarship.

Our longer term vision is to extend the reach of Antara beyond the spiritual/metaphysical to also include the care of the earth in the form of land restoration.

We seek your support to help us create a solid foundation for long term sustainability and the realization of our larger vision.

phase 1: Long Term Sustainability

We are raising money to support our scholarship program, to bring in working capital to help us expand the services that we offer, and to increase our staff support.

Phase 2: Antara Campus

Our broader vision is to:

1) provide additional housing on the land, including hermitage space designed for longer stints of solitude and contemplation

2) create outdoor communal space including a shaded outdoor meeting area and the planting of trees encircling a labyrinth

3) build a small farm that allows us to grow a portion of our food for Antara, extending outreach around hunger relief in Taos, and offering community based programs around sustainable food systems in Taos

4) offer land restoration that includes the planting of trees and a meditative pond

Phase 3: Antara Endowment

We will stabilize Antara long-term through an endowment fund.

We are truly grateful to our Antara community as we usher in this new phase of our unfolding.
